SBSC Race Officer training will be held on 16th November at SBSC. You will be shown how to do all the elements of running racing at the club including:
– How to select a course
– How to run a start + manage an individual & a general recal
– How to finish the race and record the results
– How to use sail wave & print off a results sheet
– You will be given the opportunity to run a race (with the support from the duty Race Officer). Depending on numbers this might be a team effort.
Day will run from 0930-1600.
Galley will be open.
Instructors for the day myself, Pat Jones & possibly Andrew Frost (TBC).
This is open to all club members who wish to learn how to be a Race Officer either on a Thursday evening or on Sundays (or both).
Completion of this day will allow participants to select RO duties as part of their annual 3 duty quota.
It is open to all club members but places will be restricted to about 8 so if you are wishing to secure a place please let me know either here, via email or when you see me.
