This is a reminder about the Club’s Annual Social & Prize-giving event, which is being held at the George Reynold’s Centre in Crewkerne on Friday, 10 November from 7.00 pm. This is an attractive and modern facility, with ample free parking including the Lidl and Waitrose car parks, both of which are only two minutes’ walk from the venue.

The choice of food is:

– chilli con carne, or chicken casserole, or

– vegetable & lentil cottage pie (vegetarian- or vegan if requested)

all served with crusty bread and green salad;

This will be followed by chilled lemon flan, or peach and pineapple crumble (vegetarian).

Soft drinks will be provided, but please bring your own alcoholic drink, if that is your preference.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for young people under 18. You can pay in advance or on the night. Please let me (scurs@btinternet.com) or Merv (mervynclark10@gmail.com) know if you want tickets and your choice of food.

I hope you will support the Club at this event and look forward to meeting you there.

Best wishes

Nigel Leveridge

Thank you to all the members who have carried out duties during the Thursday Series so far. I have made a list of those who have (on the noticeboard) and note there are several names who need to do some duties.

This coming Thursday (10th August) there are no volunteers so far on Dutyman.

Please put your name down soonest.

The last race in the 21 Race Series will be on the 24th and we will again be running a
PRIZE GIVING AND PIZZA NIGHT after racing. Free to competitors, donation from supporters.
Please bring your own alcohol and hot and cold drinks will be available from the Galley

To get the Club ready for the year ahead there are a number of jobs including cutting back the undergrowth and general tidying up that need doing.
Please spare what time you have on Saturday to come to the Club and bring any suitable gardening tools, protective clothing and gloves etc.
The Club will be providing bacon butties and hot drinks to keep you going and possible cake as well.

For those of you going to the Dinghy Show, there is a second Working Party Day in a month’s time on the 25th March so you will not miss out

The safety /galley duty roster is looking rather empty. Please make sure you go to the Dutyman app to volunteer for the correct number of duties for your membership for this year. You can find more details and the link to Dutyman on this link – https://ift.tt/9CSPogq

If you don’t choose your dates you will soon be allocated them.

Frosty has corrected our initial thoughts on the starting time, it is 6pm rather than 7pm. Sorry for the error on our part and we still hope you enjoy and benefit from this course

This Thursday is a quiz game night at the club. Please come along and make it a great night. Free food!! But we need to know you are coming so we get enough so register at

Ice Ice Baby

Its gotten that cold that the pond is starting to freeze over around the pontoons. Shouldn’t be an issue for Sunday off the weather forecast is correct as the temperature is set to rise…wind might be up a bit.

Please note that problems have been reported with the engine on Safety Boat number 3.

Please do not use it otherwise the engine may be damaged beyond repair.

It is currently moored on Buoy No. 8 to speed up access if it can be repaired on the water. Low water means that recovery on shore is a bit of a challenge so there may be a delay.

We’ll post again when the engine has been fixed.
